Hello bloggers/bloggees,
This is my second post of the day and, don't worry, it won't be as long as my previous one. All I wanted to say is that I have spent the past few days rediscovering a few things that I loved but had forgotten. The first thing is Pokemon Sapphire on the GameBoy Advance. With this I also rediscovered the GameBoy Advance SP which is one of my favourite's of all of the Nintendo controllers. I used to play this game all the time when I was younger, but kind of forgot about it after a while. Going back to it is like going back to my childhood and it's amazing.
Do you remember, when you were a child, the feeling that you could do anything and be anything. Over time, that feeling starts to fade away as you get caught up in a world of education, exams, money, jobs and other things. I remember the freedom that I had mentally as a child. I could imagine just about anything and had so many ideas in my brain. Playing Pokemon actually sparked my imagination again, as stupid as it sounds, and I have so many new ideas constantly coming and going.
I want everyone who reads this blog to try to spend at least half an hour doing something that will bring back a good feeling from their childhood. Whether it is playing a favourite game like I did, looking at some old photos, watching a favourite childhood TV show, going to your favourite place or anything else you can think of, try to do something that will relight your imagination.

Kinect
Hello my bloggers and bloggees,
Before I start, please be warned that this is my second, much less serious and much more nerdy blog and, if you don't like that feel free to check out my first blog - loveandcrosses.blogspot.com.
Anyway, I thought I'd start this blog by telling you a little bit about myself; My name is Olive but my nickname is Skinny. I did not name myself that, it was first said by my friend when I was little and has stuck ever since. I prefer to call myself Olive, but I don't really mind what other people call me. I have created this blog to share with the world all of the things that I love, hate, want, watched, listened to etc. etc. This blog is going to be the place where I write anything that I think is worth showing to people. I may occasionally even put up some of the songs/videos/stories that I have created, however I hardly ever like what I have created so this will be a rare occurrence.
Sorry for waffling on, now onto the real stuff. I am hoping to write two posts today on things that I have recently found really interesting/fun. First things first is the Xbox Kinect, previously called Project Natal. I got this a couple of days ago for Christmas and it is amazing. There are quite a few problems but I have no doubt that they will be fixed in time.
The greatest thing about the Kinect is that it is so advanced. I was playing with my brother and it was clever enough to tell the difference between me and him, even when we swapped places. I'm guessing it did this by height and body shape recognition, which is quite astounding really. For those people who think that it isn't worth the money because it is so similar to the Wii, you are so wrong. I love nintendo, but they are a bit behind compared to this. The thing about the Wii, especially on sports games, is that you can just sit down and move the controller around a bit to play the games. The Kinect, however, tracks your actual body movements and this means that you have to actually move to play. The lazier among us may think that this isn't a good thing, but I disagree. I have managed to get around three hours of exercise so far today just by playing on the Kinect. It may not be the most rigorous workout, but it is a fun one.
I don't have too many games, but the ones I have got are pretty good. They will undoubtedly get a little bit boring over time, but I am hoping that Xbox will continue creating games and that they will keep on getting better and better. I haven't yet got the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 game for Kinect, but I have read several reviews, all saying that it is exellent. If/When I get it, I will hopefully write up a review to put on here.
My only problem with the Kinect is that there are sometimes a few sensor problems. I was playing on Kinect Sports and my dog ran in front of the sensor. As this happened, the legs on the character on the screen went funny and sort of collapsed. This is only a minor problem though to be honest because the rest of it is so good.
I'm sorry if I bored you a little bit with this introduction and review. I do try to make my blog posts interesting, but sometimes I accidentally waffle on a little bit. Please post any feedback that you have on this post in the comments box below, and I'll see you all soon.
